bike storage

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

thank you milo for the post. also in ogaki we have a bike storage system. :-) on the south side of the station there is a house where you can put your bikes guarded by two nice men… every now and then they also put the bikes in a straight row to save some space…

1st floor of the house…. never ending bikes

2nd floor…. still never ending. sometimes it’s really hard to find a place.

on the northside of the station there is another place to put your bike. also millions of bikes. images will follow.

Matsuri in Ogaki

Monday, May 12th, 2008

yeah after the meeting we went to the matsuri…..
well actually every matsuri is more or less the same… it has some jahrmarkt/messe/urfahranermarkt atmosphere. hmmm somehow i think i have seen enough matsuri. :-) dont get me wrong it’s fun there and a must see… definetley.

i saw these fantastic boots….

can you imagine a ghosthouse in a church? its not a church here but a shrine. crazy, ne?

they have these beautifully decorated floats…

and then they go crazy dancing shouting carrying houses…

International Exchange in Ogaki

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Lance posted recently on my blog. So I found out about this blog for international exchange in ogaki. Lance is kind of the founder of this thing. He tries to bring foreigners living in ogaki together. He is from the US and works here as a computer engineer. He is monitoring people who write something about Ogaki. that’s how he find me. OGAKI OGAKI OGAKI. well they meet every sunday afternoon in a very nica cafe called lifestyle cafe. very nice idea. the group consists of lance plus 3 japanese :-) apparently there are not so many foreigners here. yeah there are lots of brazilians but they do not speak english :-) but sometimes there are more people meeting – lance said so. and as a surprise there came another us-guy living close to ogaki later to the matsuri.

this is lance and steve and other americans we have met…..
